THE MEANS DECREASING LETHALITY AND TRAUMATISM IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

Abstract


This article systematizes and describes main approaches to reduction of traffic mortality and traumatism, including traditional systemic approach and concept of "vision zero". The application of modern, scientifically grounded approaches permits to consider and to prevent impact of risk factors of traffic accidents, related to driver behavior, as well as effect of factors associated with road designing. The conclusion is made about necessity to implement educational programs on educating population to road safe behavior. The necessity to ensure for injured persons prompt access to medical care, as well as to adopt special legislative acts targeted to prevention of traffic accidents.
