According to the WHO, prevalence of such infections ranges from 7% to 15% among hospitalized patients. In countries with low-income this indicator can reach 20%. The article presents a review of modern data on prevalence, clinical characteristics and risk factors of nosocomial infections. The types of these infections, their economic consequences and issues related to resistance to of antimicrobial preparations are considered.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nosocomial infections</kwd><kwd>epidemiology</kwd><kwd>risk factors</kwd><kwd>antimicrobial preparations</kwd><kwd>resistance</kwd><kwd>infection</kwd><kwd>prevention</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>инфекции, связанные с оказанием медицинской помощи</kwd><kwd>эпидемиология</kwd><kwd>факторы риска</kwd><kwd>резистентность к противомикробным препаратам</kwd><kwd>профилактика инфекций</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Chant C., Smith O.
