The presence of colostomy, stool and gas incontinence often result in social isolation of patient at the level of both family and society. A number of ethical and deontological problems are noted in interaction of the operated patient with attending oncologist at inpatient and outpatient stages of treatment. It is concluded that only comprehensive and complex understanding of medical, psychological and social aspects of problems of the postoperative period can lead to development of programs for their effective solution.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>rectal cancer</kwd><kwd>postoperative period</kwd><kwd>medical and social problems</kwd><kwd>quality of life</kwd><kwd>patient</kwd><kwd>social adaptation</kwd><kwd>review.</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>рак прямой кишки: послеоперационный период</kwd><kwd>медикосоциальные проблемы</kwd><kwd>качество жизни пациентов</kwd><kwd>социальная адаптация</kwd><kwd>обзор.</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Araghi M., Soerjomataram I., Bardot A.
