S. Brumberg, the Soviet scientist, pathoanatomist, doctor of medical sciences, professor and his contribution to clinical diagnostic of diseases. The scientific facts are analyzed concerning causes and symptoms of diseases obtained by A. S. Brumberg on the basis of autopsies implemented by him personally and as well as jointly with professors I. V. Davydovsky and V. T. Talalaev during period of his work under their supervision. The publications of A. S. Brumberg related to clinical cases that attracted attention of medical professionals to symptoms similar to common liver and heart diseases, but having other causes are analyzed. A.S.Brumberg significantly contributed to the clinical diagnostic of Budd-Chiari syndrome, Aerza disease, syphilis and pseudo-appendicitis. The article pays special attention to scientific and pedagogical activities of A. S. Brumberg in the 1960s as one of the most national authoritative pathologists and organizer of health care. He became one of the authors of the textbook of general pathological anatomy that initiated teaching of diseases according nosology principle.</p>A. S.
